Anyone successfully coded out the auto start stop permanently without messing anything up

I cannot stand the auto start stop on my 2019 X4, every single time I forget to press the button and it shuts off at a traffic light the AC immediately starts blowing warm and the whole car shudders when it fires back up, and in Abu Dhabi traffic where you're stopping every thirty seconds it just feels like unnecessary wear on the starter and battery. I know you can turn it off with the button above the ignition but I'm tired of doing it every single time I get in the car like some kind of pre flight ritual, and I've been reading about coding options using Bimmercode or similar apps that can default it to off or remember the last setting. My concern is whether this will affect anything else in the car's behaviour, I've read a few horror stories about people coding one thing and accidentally disabling something unrelated like the welcome lights or messing up the air conditioning logic. I found https://bmw-garage.ae/ while looking for someone local who could do the coding properly rather than me experimenting with an app and potentially bricking something expensive, but I'm also curious if anyone's done it themselves and had no issues long term including through dealer visits where they plug the car into ISTA. Just want to kill the stop start without creating three new problems I'll be chasing for months.
