Owned this RRS for about four years now and it never fails to throw a tantrum right when you actually need the thing to behave, had a camping trip planned with some mates out past Al Qudra this weekend and the lovely amber "brake wear" message decides to illuminate itself on the dash as if it knows I've got a fully loaded cooler and a very excited nephew expecting dune bashing. Called my usual garage in Al Quoz and they're completely booked until next Wednesday which is absolutely zero help and now I'm staring at my phone trying to figure out if I should just risk it for a weekend knowing full well these trucks weigh about as much as a small house and eat through pads when you're actually working them in the sand, feels like a spectacularly bad idea honestly. Was doom scrolling through some Land Rover owner groups on Facebook and someone dropped a link with some info about pad thickness specs and wear sensor locations which was actually useful because I'm trying to gauge if this is a "sort it next week" problem or a "do not drive unless you want to score your rotors" emergency, might click for more details before I start ringing around to find someone who can squeeze me in on a Friday morning without charging me weekend rates that require a second mortgage. If anyone knows a Rover specialist who actually answers their phone on a Thursday afternoon and understands these Brembo setups without just nodding and pretending they've done one before I'm all ears because I really don't fancy explaining to my nephew why uncle's fancy car has to sit this one out.
Range Rover Sport brake warning came on two days before a desert drive and I'm scrambling
